Encourage App Downloads with College Marketing

Encourage App Downloads with College Marketing

Use highly-networked brand ambassadors to promote your app on social media channels and encourage app downloads with college marketing.

In my last blog post, I explored ways app developers can use college marketing to increase app downloads on college campuses. In this blog post, I will explore ways to encourage app downloads with college marketing from an online and social media perspective, using key influencers.

Social media marketing is a great way to reach college students online. Advertising Video Games on College Campuses

College students love gaming as it’s a way to socialize with their peers and escape from the stress of everyday life. Advertising video games on college campuses is a great way to promote an upcoming release or introduce new devices.

Video Games Provide an Opportunity for Socialization and Friendship

The majority of college students play video games regularly. This is not surprising given their preference for socialization and group activities. Video games allow students to connect and hangout, and many students play video games as a social activity. In fact, “51 percent of men believe[] that gaming improved their friendship with friends.”[i] Video games are great icebreakers for people that have just met. Why American Football is Losing Ground with College Students

Why American Football is Losing Ground with College Students image

Why do you think American football is losing ground with college students?

This article explains some of the reasons why American football is losing ground with college students, including changes in technology, new forms of entertainment, bad publicity, and the concussion epidemic.

A major problem college football teams face is declining student interest and attendance at football games. This is worrisome because it could reflect future trends in viewership among the youth population at both the college and professional level. Attracting millennials’ attention is critical in maintaining the popularity of the sport, so it’s important to analyze the different factors that are influencing this shift in behavior in order to determine ways in which this trend can be reversed.

Speculating About the Future of College Marketing, Part II

future of college marketing image

While science fiction is typically dismissed as just that—fiction—many technologies that we now take for granted were first imagined in this genre, sometimes even spurring their invention. Likewise, sci-fi visions of the future of college marketing strategies may someday become commonplace, and it always pays to be ahead of the curve.

In the last installment I speculated about a couple of possible future advertising technologies that could prove to be useful college marketing ideas. While these may seem far-fetched now, sci-fi concepts often predict technologies that are in the pipeline or somewhere down the road.

Likewise, sci-fi visions of future college marketing strategies may soon become commonplace practices, and it always pays to be ahead of the curve.

The combination of creative imagination and at least low-level scientific expertise evinced by sci-fi readers and writers makes them especially suited to speculating about the future. In fact, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and other government agencies employ a group of sci-fi writers called SIGMA to work up various scenarios and futuristic solutions that might seem fantastic or outrageous to ordinary bureaucrats.[1]

Focusing on a Story or Idea in College Advertising

Focusing on a Story or Idea in College Advertising

Marketing to college students using a compelling story or innovative idea, will lead to a successful college advertising campaign.

The focus of any college advertising strategy is to increase awareness of your brand and gain new clientele. However, concentrating on the end result is a common trap advertisers fall into; getting bogged down with numbers can affect the quality of your content, leading to a less effective college marketing plan. A successful college advertising campaign prioritizes the concept above all else. Creating a compelling story or delivering an innovative new experience, will capture students’ attention.

College Advertising Utilizing Mass Media Engages College Students

College Advertising Utilizing Mass Media Engages College Students

Advertising to college students using mediums that they engage with regularly, will allow your message to reach its target audience in a meaningful way.

It’s a known fact that college students love technology. They use it as a way to interact and engage with their peers, stay up to date with the latest news and gossip, and as a tool in constructing their online image. Facebook has become an integral part of most college students’ lives, an obsession for some. Take the more extreme example, of where a University of Georgia student broke into somebody’s home, not to steal or vandalize, but in order to check her Facebook account. Though this case is bizarre, it does show the basic idea that college students consider Facebook an essential component of their everyday life.
