College marketing gives brands the opportunity to reach college students where they study, live, work, and play. Student brand ambassadors have access to all areas on campus granted to students and can deliver your ad into the hands of college students.
Use College Marketing to Reach College Students Where they Study
1. Reach Students with Classroom Announcements
Classroom announcements are an excellent way to reach a large group of college students because you have a captive audience of targeted students. This means you can deliver your message to a receptive crowd and not waste advertising dollars. Classroom announcements are approved by the professor beforehand, which gives the brand/program credibility because the professor deems it worthy of an announcement.
The trick to succeeding with classroom announcements is finding the right classes, clubs, student organizations, and professors for the targeted message. After that, you need to find the right students to make connections with those groups, so they can convey the message in a genuine way. Use someone who is passionate about your cause and can share their excitement with students in a fun, meaningful way.

2. Place Ads in Student Lounges
Student lounges are an excellent venue for on-campus advertising. Students often spend time at student unions in between classes. It’s a great spot for them to hang out and study before their next lecture. You can reach college students at these well-loved spots by using table tents or if you want a more active approach, by passing out postcards. Table tents are a great way to build brand awareness, while postcards are a great way to deliver a call-to-action coupon.
3. Advertise in Coffee Shops On Campus
Everyone knows coffee shops are a popular hangout among the college crowd. The college lifestyle can be quite tiring and students flock to coffee shops to refuel for another round of classes or a late night hitting the books. Advertise in campus coffee shops to gain attention with the college crowd or better yet, host a free coffee event and see college kids lined up to get a cup of coffee with your ad on it!
